Délégation luxembourgeoise auprès de l'Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de l'Europe (CE)

The PACE is a forum for dialogue with the member governments of the Council of Europe and allows its members to submit ideas to them via the Committee of Ministers. It is a guardian of human rights and democracy and can initiate follow-up procedures in order to help the countries concerned to keep their commitments. It also acts in an advisory capacity for all conventions drawn up within the Council of Europe. Its remit also includes appointing judges to the European Court of Human Rights, appointing the Commissioner for Human Rights and the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe. Periodically, its representatives carry out visits all over Europe in order to gather information used to draft Assembly reports and take part in election observation missions. Each year the PA-CE holds an ordinary session, usually divided into four parts, which generally take place in January, April, June and October.
